Magic Kingdom – Fantasyland – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Naturally, this particular entry will call for an update before long, but… I couldn’t wait until sometime next year to get my fingers to the keyboard about this one. Slated to open in 2014, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will be a steel roller coaster marking the final phase in the expansion of Fantasyland’s Enchanted Forest.

Disney World has released sketches and updates on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train concept. The coaster will utilize an original track system that provides realistic simulation of a swaying mine car ride, indoors and outdoors through the dwarfs’ cottage and deep into their busy gem mines. Animatronic characters and music from the Disney classic film, Snow White will provide theming throughout your adventure. One has to wonder if any relics of Snow White’s Scary Adventures will make appearances, eh? Yes, I admit it… I’m quite bitter over losing that one. It was one of the first attractions I can vividly remember from my first Disney visit. Then again, I’m still bemoaning Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

My digressions are beginning to become a trend. Oh my… I just knew Fantasyland would bring out this side of me! Might as well go with it!!!

Until this attraction opens, I have only two more snippets to share…

  1. They have set up the cutest themed viewing areas in the construction walls of the Mine Train. Even the littler ones can view progress. For those of us local and visiting frequently, this is an especially nice touch.

  1. No matter how cool this turns out to be, I’ll always miss the original nod to the lady herself, so….

Thanks to @InsideTheMagic  for providing such an AMAZING tribute!
