NEW YORK – Beyond Manhattan to New York City’s Secret Garden

November 15, 2016 Bronx, New York – There’s a reason that savvy New Yorkers refer to The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) as their secret garden. One of the greatest botanical gardens in the world, NYBG is a sanctuary that lies just 20 minutes from midtown Manhattan. NYBG is not only an extraordinary garden, but a treasured cultural institution that ranks with the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art as an essential part of New York City’s cultural landscape. With an increasing number of visitors looking beyond Manhattan for authentic experiences, this extraordinary 250-acre National Historic Landmark has jumped to the top of their cultural agendas.

In the coming months there are more reasons than ever to visit NYBG:

The Holiday Train Show ®  November 19, 2016–January 16, 2017.

Haupt Conservatory.

Redouté to Warhol: Bunny Mellon’s Botanical Art through February 12, 2017.

An only-in-New York show which showcases the botanical collection of one of New York’s greatest philanthropists.

The Orchid Show: Thailand February 18–April 9, 2017

During this stunning annual Botanical Garden tradition, explore an expanded showcase of magnificent orchids inside the Haupt Conservatory. This year’s theme pays homage to the wealth of orchids and rich cultural history of Thailand.

CHIHULY April 22–October 29, 2017

This will mark the first time in a decade that the work of one of America’s foremost sculptors, Dale Chihuly, can be been viewed in New York City. That previous show was also at NYBG and Chihuly’s monumental installations will once again be seen within and around the most celebrated sites in the Botanical Garden’s landscape.
