NORTH CAROLINA – Carowinds’ County Fair Construction Update

Charlotte, N.C. (Nov. 17, 2016) – Construction on the new County Fair section of Carowinds is moving forward ahead of schedule. As of mid-November, Southern Sidewinder waterslide has been demolished along with a game stand in the area on the north side of the park to make way for the expansion. Demolition is expected to wrap up this week. Foundation grading will begin next week for the four new family rides that will call County Fair home— Electro-Spin, Zephyr, Rock N’ Roller and Do-Si-Do.

In addition, the well-known thrill ride Carolina Cobra is getting a new name and color scheme. It will be called the Flying Cobras and will pay tribute to the classic air shows one would see at a Carolina County Fair. Flying Cobras will be blue and white with a stunt plane theme on each train.
