Registration Now Open for Charity Events Benefiting Give Kids The World Village during IAAPA Attract

Golf Tournament, Motorcycle Ride, and Run and Walk Events Raise Funds to Bring Smilesto Children with Life-Threatening Illnesses 

ORLANDO, Fla., US (Sept. 20, 2017) – IAAPA Attractions Expo 2017, taking place Nov. 13-17, 2017 in Orlando, will host three fundraisers benefiting Give Kids The World (GKTW) Village — an 84-acre, nonprofit resort based in Central Florida that creates magical memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The IAAPA International Charity Golf Tournament, IAAPA Motorcycle Ride, and IAAPA Charity 5K Run and 1K Walk — “Footprints From the Heart“ — will each raise money in support of GKTW. Companies exhibiting during the trade show can also donate items to GKTW at the end of the week.

As a long-standing partner of GKTW, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and its members have raised more than $1 million over the course of more than 20 years.

IAAPA International Charity Golf Tournament

This 18-hole scramble starts at 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at Hawk’s Landing Golf Club at the Orlando World Center Marriott. Playing slots are limited to 144 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The $200 registration fee includes transportation, golf cart, breakfast, lunch, and more. The registration deadline for individuals, pairs, threesomes, or foursomes is Nov. 6.

Please note: Members are encouraged to register early as the event is expected to sell out weeks in advance.

IAAPA Motorcycle Ride

The annual motorcycle ride begins at 8 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 12. Please note the $100 registration fee includes lunch; however, motorcycle rental is separate. Registration must be complete by Nov. 6.

IAAPA Charity 5K Run and 1K Walk: “Footprints From the Heart

The IAAPA 5K Fun Run and 1K Walk — “Footprints From the Heart” — takes place Thursday, Nov. 16, at GKTW Village in Kissimmee, Florida. Participants are encouraged to register in advance so they may create a personal fundraising page online to share with family and friends to raise additional donations ahead of Expo. Fundraising prizes will be awarded to the top individual fundraiser and top team fundraiser.

· Teams of five or more can register at a minimum donation of $30 per person

· Individuals can register for a minimum donation of $35 per person

· For those who are unable to participate in person, the virtual runner program allows anyone to also create a fundraising page to help raise money in support of the event

Advance registration is open online until Tuesday, Nov. 14 and on-site at Expo at the GKTW Booth #4134 until 6 p.m. on Nov. 15. Runners can also register in person the morning of the event, Thursday, Nov. 16 at GKTW.

Exhibitor Donations Exhibiting companies can donate booth items, such as plush toys, games, T-shirts, etc., to the Village. Additional information will be distributed to each booth during the week and will be available at the Exhibitor Services Desk behind IAAPA Central, Booth #3831, Thursday, Nov. 16, and Friday, Nov. 17.
