Sonesta ES Suites on International Drive

Sonesta ES Suites on International Drive underwent a dramatic transformation, completed in the spring of 2014. The re-imagined hotel boasts 146 suites. Ranging in size from 550 sq ft to 750 sq ft, in both one and two bedroom styles. Sonesta ES Suites is a comfortable, spacious option for business travelers and families alike. For those in town on an extended visit, it offers all the comforts of home, and enough space to keep your entire traveling party from losing their sanity. The location couldn’t be any more alluring, either! Located directly across the street from I-Drive 360, fun and food are a simple jaunt across International Drive!

The main lobby of Sonesta ES Suites features lounging areas in cool, contemporary colors, and access to The Pour – an indoor bar with a pass-through window poolside. The Pour features a daily Happy Hour from 5:30PM – 7:00PM.

The lobby also houses a business center, convenience store….

…and The Nest – a cozy nook for relaxation, socialization and more!

There is a centralized courtyard area that surrounds the pool. The borders of the courtyard feature various seating areas, and a sunbathing loft overlook. Each area is flanked by a glass elevator.

Courtyard corners at the lobby level are home to amenities including the arcade…

…and The Mat fitness center!

The suites themselves are simply perfect! We appreciated the space, the light and airy decor, smart layout, and carefully-planned details. Even with non-carpeted flooring, there is no floor-to-floor noise from neighbors above or below. The building is very well-constructed, and everything feels and looks high-quality. Full-kitchens come with coffee maker, full-size refrigerator, cook-top stove, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, and plenty of utensils and accessories. We always appreciate the option to save a few dollars by making meals in our own space, and it’s nice to have the facilities to create a nice meal, without everything being run through a microwave or stuffed in a mini-fridge! Of course, Sonesta also offers complimentary breakfast every day of your stay, so you have plenty of options to stay well-fed on your getaway without having to pay so many restaurant tabs that quickly drain your budget!

Queen size sleeper sofas enable sleeping for two guests beyond the bedroom(s), or provide a comfy area for television viewing, family game time, or whatever else strikes your fancy. (Complimentary wifi, anyone?) Unlike standard hotel rooms, your family doesn’t have to mingle around a “bed” when they’re in the mood to just stay in for a while.

Each bedroom has its own flat-screen TV, as well as a dreamy pillow top mattress. This is absolutely the kind of bed that you can sink right in to! Of course, if you’re planning to hit the nearby theme parks bright and early, it may be hard to coax yourself into leaving such comfort!

One-bedroom suites have one bathroom as well – while the two-bedroom suites have two bathrooms. All bathrooms feature ample storage, mirror space, and bath linens…

…and FINALLY, there’s a hotel that comprehends the plight of those with massive hair! I have long, thick hair, which means that every hotel stay comes with a request for LOTS more shampoo and conditioner. I could easily use 2-3 standard-sized hotel bottles of each in one washing! Here at Sonesta ES, I can finally wash my hair thoroughly without having to explain my need for more supplies! Some of you may not fully grasp the awesomeness of this, but for those who know the struggle, you know this is a VERY big deal!

The views from both the courtyard and the rooms at Sonesta ES are stunning – offering the best perspectives of all the latest and greatest additions to the thriving International Drive district. From the Sonesta ES, most of the best new attractions and restaurants on I-Drive are within easy walking distance. During the hot summer months, it’s nice to know that you can conveniently return to the refreshing sanctity of your hotel room without shelling out large sums of money or time for buses, cabs, or even personally-owned vehicles. The hotel does offer transportation to the theme parks, but with so much amusement so close, it almost seems silly to go to the parks! For those on an extended stay, you’ll thoroughly appreciate the proximity to additional attractions and restaurants when you do tire of the big parks!

For the same price you’d pay at a Walt Disney World Value Resort, you can enjoy the additional space and centralized location of the Sonesta ES Suites. With the savings on parking fees, wifi charges, and breakfast, Sonesta is obviously an unbeatable option for a brilliant cost. To see more of Sonesta ES Suites, view our photo album here.
