Veteran Military Employees Set Sail on Newly Restored Pirate Ship at LEGOLAND® Florida Resort

Brickbeard’s Bounty Returns After It Was Nearly Destroyed In Hurricane Irma

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (July 4, 2018) – LEGOLAND® Florida Resort celebrated its Model Citizens (employees) who fought for our nation by offering them the opportunity to set sail on Brickbeard’s Bounty as it made its way back to port at Pirate’s Cove.  The passengers proudly represented every branch of the military with more than 100 years of service combined.

In September 2017, the resort’s pirate ship was severely damaged during Hurricane Irma and following the storm, it was removed as a part of the water ski show.  Over the course of nearly 10 months, the ship was stripped down to its frame and completely rebuilt.  Restored to its former glory and topped off with new sails, Brickbeard’s Bounty is back and has taken back its place as the iconic centerpiece of the theme park’s popular water ski show.

Celebrate Independence Day at Red, White & Boom

LEGOLAND Florida Resort is set to launch its largest fireworks display of the year during Red, White & Boom. The annual Independence Day celebration features a day full of fun activities including a high-energy kid dance party and a giant LEGO American flag build.

When the sun goes down, guests are encouraged to wear special 3D viewing glasses and look to the sky above Lake Eloise as it illuminates with LEGO bricks during a patriotic fireworks show. Red, White & Boom will take place from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. and is included with park admission.  Stadium seating and glasses distribution begins at 8 p.m. and fireworks start at 9 p.m.
